ABOUT ME

VICTORIA SOLBERT - Sustainability and International Development

I love tackling complex problems. I am an experienced business and international development professional, skilled in providing evidence based and innovative solutions to development issues, supply chain management strategies, business development, natural resource management, and sustainable agriculture. A multi-disciplinary and analytic thinker, I recently completed a Master of Development Practice at UC Berkeley. I am looking for opportunities to help private companies and non-profits collaborate and leverage their core capabilities to deliver the best sustainable development results.

I am always interested in learning new fields and meeting new people. If you want a fresh perspective on a challenge you or your organization has been struggling with, please get in touch.

TRAVELS AND MUSINGS

City through the haze - even in the northern mountain city of Darjeeling, thick haze blocked our views of the valley and surrounding mountains.

Dying to Breath

I recently returned from a 3-week holiday to India for a friends wedding. This […]

It boasts 125 km of uninterrupted beach, though […]

Secret Places of Bangladesh

The Chittagong Hill Tracts, the hidden jewel of Bangladesh, literally. The beautiful scenery of this region hides darker histories, of which Kaptai lake is a perfect example. The lake is gorgeous, with steep emerald green hills descending into the water, the shoreline dotted with small boat docks and houses. The lake was created however when […]

The Pride of a Nation…is Another Country’s Team

Driving around Bangladesh, you might become confused as to which continent you are on. Everywhere you look there are flags flying, but most either from Brazil or Argentina. Every once in a while a German on Spanish flag is mixed in, but the predominance of Brazil and Argentina is clear. And they’re not just flags – they […]

Field Work and Fasting

I returned to the beautiful Srimongol, in the North East region of Bangaldesh, for official data collection now that the field survey has been improved and finalized. This time we visited communities in the Lawachara National Park, a moderately hilly forested area famous for gibbons (though I unfortunately did not have time to go looking […]
